Clandestine casino operated in a citadel located next to the Guayaquil airport; Police intervened site

Around 40 people were present, mostly foreigners of Chinese nationality.

Police officers and the Prosecutor’s Office raided a place that operated as a supposed casino clandestinely early this Thursday in the Santa Leonor citadel, north of Guayaquil.

Some 40 people were at the scene, mostly foreigners of Chinese nationality, who were evicted from the site, said personnel from the Judicial Police who participated in the operation.

During the intervention, agents removed implements used for casino games, such as machines, cards, chips, screens, table and cash.

All the evidence, according to agents, was taken to the warehouses of the Judicial Police.

Likewise, the agents detained two people who would be representatives of the site that operated without permits and is expected to resolve their judicial situation before the flagrante delicto prosecutor.

It was learned that the site had been operating in the area for several months and the influx of vehicles raised the suspicions of residents who, in turn, alerted the police to the fact so that the investigations could begin.

Last September, another property that operated as a clandestine casino was discovered by an assault and shooting registered on Tuesday, September 21.

At that time, antisocials clashed with police who arrived in the area after a citizen alert.

Finally, ten subjects were arrested as alleged members of the group that robbed the clients of the establishment. (I)
