Pais reported the opening of a “new front” by Kiev

Ukraine has opened a “new front in Crimea.” The Spanish newspaper Pais writes about this, and RIA Novosti provides excerpts from the material.

The publication notes that NATO allies “gave the green light to use the weapons they supplied” for strikes on the peninsula. In particular, Kyiv can use the Anglo-French Storm Shadow missiles that have recently entered its arsenal, the publication writes.

The day before, it was this type of missile that struck Sevastopol, the newspaper adds. According to the media, the approval of the West is a significant change in the scenario, since “just a few months ago Washington, Berlin or Paris considered Crimea a red line that could lead to an even greater escalation of the conflict.”

Let us remind you that Kyiv receives American HIMARS missiles and Anglo-French Storm Shadow missiles as part of Western military assistance. The Storm Shadow missile was developed jointly by France and the UK.

Previously, Russia sent a note to NATO countries over arms supplies to Kyiv. The Kremlin emphasized that pumping Ukraine up with weapons from the West does not contribute to the success of Russian-Ukrainian negotiations and will have a negative effect. At the same time, recently Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev noted that a possible attack on Crimea would mean an escalation of the conflict, and, according to him, such attacks would meet “inevitable retaliation” using any type of weapon.
