Some 9,000 students from 41 educational establishments in the Esmeraldas canton receive the COVID-19 vaccine, by order of the Ministry of Education.

The inoculation phase began on Wednesday, December 8 and will end this Friday. Sinovac biologics are applied to children from 5 to 11 years old and Pfizer for 12 years and older.

The goal is to vaccinate about 30,000 children and adolescents in school in the Esmeraldas district, said director Rommel Ruiz.

But first, the parent or representative of the student must present an authorization document.

The vaccination points are the Cristo Rey, Sagrado Corazón and María Auxiliadora fiscal establishments, which are open from 08:30 to 16:30 to avoid crowds.

Meanwhile, in San Lorenzo, on the northern border of Esmeraldas, vaccinating brigades from the Ministry of Public Health (MSP), with the support of the 11th Marine Infantry Battalion, carry out immunization of the population aged 5 and over, as also to adults with the first and second doses.
