The nutritionist named foods that lead to miscarriages and infertility

Diet is very important for health, and special attention should be paid to it by women who want to become pregnant and those who are already pregnant. This was stated by consultant nutritionist from London Ro Huntriss, writes MedicForum.

So, according to the specialist, it is better to give up alcohol during the planning period, that is, several months before conception.

Those wishing to become pregnant should not consume foods containing trans fats – there are many of them in margarine, cakes, cookies and fast food. Consumption of trans fats is associated with a high risk of infertility and can affect the length of pregnancy, cause developmental defects and miscarriage.

You should also reduce your caffeine intake. And although it does not have a negative effect on conception itself, it is associated with a high risk of miscarriage, the doctor explains.

Also, fatty fish – salmon, mackerel and sardines – contain useful substances, including iron, iodine and omega-3. However, it also contains contaminants that can accumulate in the mother’s body and harm the developing child.

It is also important to avoid foods high in vitamin A – eggs, beef liver and fish oil should be avoided, as the vitamin A they contain in large quantities can cause fetal malformations.
