“Armenian propagandists have taken over Russian TV”: in Yerevan they accused the Russian media of waging a “hybrid war”

Russian media launched a “hybrid war” against Armenia. This opinion was expressed by the chief of staff of the Prime Minister of Armenia Arayik Harutyunyan, his post was published on social networks, Kommersant writes.

This is how he commented on the statement of journalist Georg Khachaturian, who the day before said that Armenian demonstrators, who broke into the government building on September 20, came across American paratroopers there who had arrived for an exercise.

According to Harutyunyan, this is absolute misinformation. “On that day, not a single demonstrator entered the government building, and even more so, there were no Americans there,” the politician noted.

“It seems that in the hybrid war unleashed in the Russian media against Armenia, they promised, as in the famous fairy tale, that the one who lies the most will receive half of the Palace/Kremlin,” he added.

“How did it turn out that the biggest propagandists of Russian TV channels are Armenians: Margarita Simonyan, Tigran Keosayan, Aram Gabrelyanov, Semyon Bagdasarov, Roman Babayan, Sergey Kurginyan, Andranik Migranyan and others?” wrote Harutyunyan.

Let us remind you that Armenia has been unsettled since September 19, when Azerbaijan announced an “anti-terrorist operation” in Nagorno-Karabakh. The operation was officially completed a day later. However, protests broke out in Yerevan. Activists tried to break into the government building. On September 23, 19 people who gathered near the government building were detained in Yerevan. Criminal cases have been initiated against 49 detained Protestants. Five were arrested. At the same time, Armenian-American military exercises were held in Armenia (from September 12 to 20).
