A complete cessation of hostilities with Russia is possible if two conditions are met. This was stated by the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, speaking at the UN General Assembly.
According to him, it is necessary to withdraw Russian troops, including the Black Sea Fleet, from the entire territory of Ukraine within the 1991 borders, as well as to return to Ukraine control over the entire state border and the exclusive economic zone in the Black and Azov Seas and the Kerch Strait, Kommersant reports.
Zelensky stressed that after these two points are fulfilled, an “honest, reliable and complete cessation of hostilities” is possible.
Last year, Zelensky presented a formula for achieving peace in the conflict with Russia, consisting of several points. He presented it last November during the G20 summit. The plan involves radiation, food and energy security, the release of all prisoners, the restoration of the territorial integrity of Ukraine, the withdrawal of Russian troops and the cessation of hostilities, countering ecocide, preventing escalation and recording that the conflict is over. The Office of the President of Ukraine reported that the peace formula was approved by 63 countries.
In Moscow, however, they ruled out accepting the plan proposed by Zelensky, as well as any other, which would not take into account Moscow’s sovereignty over the Donbass, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.
