One of the pillars on which the government and the democratic system of a country is based is the judicial apparatus, through which every man should be given what belongs to him.
Unfortunately, over time it seems that this principle is getting further and further away from our reality. With exceptions, a deterioration is observed where many of those practicing law as a profession are also co-authors, accomplices or facilitators; and, the same ones who, fed up with the slowness of the process, or the lack of hope that “justice will be served”, end up surrendering to coercion.
This state of corruption, which erodes the very foundations of society, is very worrying and unsustainable. On the one hand, there is a monetary offer, and on the other, on several occasions, the threats and pressures that honest operators suffer to have trials frozen or to be tried in one sense or another, under the penalty of putting his life and the life of his family in danger.
In criminal matters, in order to avoid these dangers, there was talk of implementing the figure of faceless judges, which would prevent their identification so that they would not fall into what the well-known phrase “silver or lead” implies. But there was no shortage of loud voices saying that criminals have the right to know who will judge them. Namely, the rights of criminals would be above the lives of judges and their families, which is truly unacceptable.
But these are not the only problems the country faces with the justice system. Internally, mutual accusations are extremely serious and not only affect the normal performance of their delicate functions, but the level of disbelief and mistrust in those who perform them also increases in the public.
The discrediting of the judicial apparatus and the lack of credibility of its employees therefore cause the withdrawal of domestic and foreign investments, which negatively affects the development of the country. According to news published by this newspaper on Monday the 18th, 650,000 cases have been blocked, and justice that takes too long is not justice.
In view of this, the question arises of what to do to improve the system, when we also have a growing wave of crime and violence, partly caused by drug dealers, whose money contaminates almost everything.
Along with kidnappings, murderers, murders, lack of control in prisons and the so-called vaccines, from the highest levels of society, including the judiciary, it is very difficult to find an answer. The proposal would be to restore the Constitution from ’98.
When morality departs from the people, and the weak or corrupt succumb to temptation, only a firm and fair hand can restore the order that has been lost at almost all levels of government and administration.
It is imperative to have a judicial system independent of politics, free from outside hands, with honest professionals and officers who know the law. Otherwise, we will continue with stolen justice. (OR)
