Russians should refrain from traveling to Finland in cars with Russian license plates. This recommendation was issued by the Russian Embassy, as follows from the diplomatic department’s statement on Telegram.
“The Embassy recommends that Russians refrain from traveling to Finland in cars with Russian license plates due to new clarifications from the European Commission,” the text says.
Let us recall that earlier the European Commission gave clarifications according to which Russian citizens are prohibited from entering the European Union with personal smartphones, cars, jewelry and laptops. They are also not allowed to bring laptops, suitcases, cosmetics, leather and fur products, semi-precious stones, toilet paper, shampoos, toothpastes, cameras. EU customs authorities may not let them through, it follows from the EC document, RBC wrote. It was noted that entry into the EU countries is also prohibited with cars registered in Russia – this will be regarded as prohibited import. It does not matter whether the vehicle is used for private or commercial purposes if it falls under the customs codes listed in Annex XXI, including code 8703, the EC clarified. This code 8703 covers cars and other vehicles designed to carry fewer than ten people.
