The range of imported drugs in Russian pharmacies decreased by 20%. This conclusion follows from the data of the analytical company DSM Group, which RBC cites.
It is noted that a fifth of imported drugs “left” Russian pharmacies over the year. Thus, according to the results of the first seven months of 2023, the range of imported drugs in Russian pharmacies included 6.4 thousand items, which is 20.3% less than in January-July last year. The statistics take into account data on the assortment of about 45 thousand Russian pharmacies, that is, more than half of the market, media outlets say.
The publication also writes about the growing demand among consumers for cheaper domestic counterparts.
The media refers to a number of experts who confirm that over the seven months of this year, sales of imported commodity items decreased in packages by 15-16% year-on-year. At the same time, among the groups of drugs where the decrease in the foreign assortment is most noticeable, there are drugs for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases. The range of foreign antidepressants has also been reduced. At the same time, growth is observed in some categories, for example, in the group of drugs for the treatment of oncology. In the group of insulins, the number of available trade names has not changed.
