Neighboring countries demanded from Lukashenka to withdraw Wagner PMC from Belarus

Poland, Latvia and Lithuania, which have a common border with Belarus, as well as Estonia, demanded the withdrawal of Wagner PMC fighters from the country. This is stated in a joint statement by the Interior Ministers of the four countries, reports Rzeczpospolita.

“Two things are necessary to stabilize the situation on our border with Belarus. We demanded from the authorities in Minsk, from the regime [президента страны Александра] Lukashenko, in order for the Wagner group to immediately leave the territory of Belarus, illegal migrants immediately left the border zone <…> and went to their countries of origin,” said Polish Minister Mariusz Kaminsky.

According to him, several thousand “Wagnerites” are concentrated in Belarus, this is “an extremely dangerous group that poses a very real security threat” for the citizens of Belarus and the entire region. “We expect possible incidents, including those of an armed nature, involving members of this group,” the minister said and added that in the event of any incident on the border of the listed states with Belarus, the reaction would be “lightning fast.” One of the possible options is the complete closure of border points, which is considered by all countries that have a border with Belarus.
