Figaro: Russia will dominate the grain market next year

Russia will retain the first place in the grain market in the 2023/2024 season, despite the difficulties in exporting products through the Black Sea ports. This was written by the French newspaper Figaro, citing the agency Agritel.

The publication, citing analysts, notes that supply on the grain market will decrease in the coming year. The failure will not be significant, but tangible. It is specified that grain production will be reduced by 3 million tons. At the same time, Russia will remain in the lead, having 49 million tons for export abroad, which is approximately 23% of world trade.

The newspaper also emphasizes that Russia is receiving high grain yields for the second year in a row, while in other countries, yields are declining.

Earlier, Bloomberg wrote that a rich harvest in Russia after leaving the grain deal gives Moscow an advantage over Ukraine and Western countries. The media recalled that several Eastern European countries imposed a ban on the import of Ukrainian grain into their territories in order to protect their domestic market. In a situation of falling prices, Washington and Brussels will be forced to make concessions to Moscow or pay large subsidies to Eastern European countries so that they allow the import of grain from Ukraine, the newspaper wrote.
