In Guayaquil we live between the scourge of the mealy bug (Planococcus citri), which sucks the sap from the giant Samanea trees (Samanea) and others until it dries up and kills them, and the criminal scourge, which infects and kills the citizens. The causes are similar: the inaction of local and state authorities, past and present; incompetence in treatment or possible solution; weak leadership to achieve common action or ming, scarce availability of economic resources; and, above all, the general preoccupation of citizens with conflicts or gossip created by certain political actors who want power. The solution is to address the causes.

Cochineal makes the difference between Guayaquil and the country, since the causes are adapted to the nation and affect the conscience, character and national psyche, without carrying out the solutions expressed in demagogic political promises. The cause that affects the most is the political conflict that has turned the country into an ungovernable, insecure and unjust one, which further pushes us into poverty and mistrust of societies immersed in the international context. The most complex thing is to understand how they catch the alleged attacker and then he dies, they detain some Colombians with Ecuadorian identity cards, without their involvement being clarified, the president asked for support from the FBI and so far there is silence.

The result of the presidential election left the Revolución Ciudadana candidate Luisa González and the Acción Democrática Nacional (ADN) candidate Daniel Nobo in the second round. Let’s hope that hatred towards individual politicians will not increase, especially those who ruled in different eras and live comfortably in non-socialist countries, but scientists say that socialist-communist countries and the system are their dream and ideal. It should be noted that criminal organizations will continue to exploit political hatred and intensify terrorist actions, increasing the chain reaction of panic, uncertainty and paralysis of citizens and their workforce, emphasizing poverty and chaos.

The time we have left until the election of the new president of the Republic must contribute to the mitigation of the scourge of cochineal and criminals; and to identify the political pigs, whose interest is to drain resources, so that they don’t make the same mistake again.
