Five were the shots received by a man who had a record for attempted murder and robbery.

A man was assassinated with at least five shots on the night of this Sunday the 5th on December 3 Street, in the San Alejo citadel, west of Portoviejo.
The victim was identified as Víctor Richard García Macías, 32 years old, who lived in the Las Orquídeas citadel, near the site where the crime occurred.
The hitman-style attack occurred at 11:45 p.m. on Sunday, December 5, when García was traveling on the road after having purchased a product in a store in the San Alejo citadel.
While he was walking, García was attacked five times by people who were allegedly traveling in a van, according to the first police investigations.

Freddy Ávalos, head of the Portoviejo Police District, confirmed that the man had a judicial record and that he received three bullet wounds in the head and the remaining two in the chest.
The victim has more than fifteen criminal court records for crimes such as attempted murder, robbery and possession of weapons.
After hearing the detonations, residents of 3 de Diciembre Street came out to observe what happened and could see García’s body lying on the street.
“We try to gather information on who were the cause of this event, but unfortunately the citizens have not given information,” said Ávalos.
The residents of the place only indicated that a vehicle fled the place after the shots.
So far in 2021 in Manabí there have been 186 violent deaths. In Chone, between last Saturday and Sunday there were two other murders. In the most recent case, the crime of a man was recorded on a surveillance camera on Raymundo Aveiga and Colón streets, in the downtown area of Chonense.
In the images, a subject is observed who is accompanied by another man on a motorcycle, fires some shots with a long weapon, apparently a submachine gun, against a citizen who ends up lying on the floor.
At a local hospital, doctors confirmed the death of the victim.
Last Saturday night, another man of about 36 years old died after being shot at in the doorway of his home, on Emilio Hidalgo and Alborada streets, in that canton. (I)
