The journalists learned the details of the last trip of the head of Wagner PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin to Africa.
The businessman, according to The Wall Street Journal (WSJ), flew to Bangui, the capital of the Central African Republic, on August 18 and met with President Faustin-Archange Touadéra.
According to the publication, Prigozhin then promised to strengthen the presence of Wagner in the Central African Republic, assuring that the failed attempt at a rebellion in the Russian Federation would not interfere with the work of PMCs in this country.
The next day, as the publication found out, Prigozhin held talks with representatives of the Sudanese Rapid Reaction Force. The delegation brought gold to the businessman in gratitude for the supply of surface-to-air missiles. After that, Prigogine stayed in the capital of Mali, Bamako, and from there flew to Moscow.
Recall that Prigozhin’s Embraer Legacy business jet crashed on the evening of August 23 near the village of Kuzhenkino, Tver Region. The Federal Air Transport Agency stated that Prigozhin was on board the crashed plane.
