The number of victims in an accident in the center of Kaluga has grown to 11 people, 9 of them were taken to various medical institutions of the city, including three children, the press service of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.

Earlier it was reported about 10 victims, two of whom are children, and six hospitalized.

It is noted that the alleged culprit of the accident was detained. According to police, in April of this year, he was deprived of his license for driving while intoxicated.

As the mayor Dmitry Denisov clarified, five victims are now in the regional clinical hospital in serious condition. “Of the three injured children, two are in intensive care,” Denisov said.

In turn, Governor Vladislav Shapsha said that in the regional clinical hospital, three victims are in the operating room, one is in intensive care. In the intensive care unit of the Regional Children’s Hospital – two teenagers aged 15 and 16. One of the victims is being prepared for surgery at an emergency hospital in Kaluga.

Recall, earlier it was reported that on Kirov Street in Kaluga, a passenger car drove onto the sidewalk, people were injured. There were 15 ambulances on the scene. According to emergency services, the car rammed a public transport stop.
