The ideal parameters of the human waist are determined. The calculations were made by scientists from the Bayes Business School in London, excerpts from the material are given by Pravda.Ru.
Experts have found that the waist of an adult should be less than half of his height. In the presence of such proportions, the risk of developing type 2 diabetes and heart disease is significantly reduced. At the same time, due to the excess of the waist, men can lose up to 20 years of life, and women – up to 10 years of life, scientists warn, explaining that the accumulation of fat in the waist area is dangerous for the body.
They advise to establish proper nutrition and physical activity and, in general, take measures to maintain a healthy lifestyle and control waist sizes.
Earlier, Rospotrebnadzor experts noted that no more than 80 cm for women and 94 cm for men is considered a normal indicator of waist circumference. Scientists emphasized that a waist circumference of more than 88 cm in women and 102 cm in men is a reliable indicator of a high risk of premature death from heart disease, carbohydrate metabolism disorders and certain types of cancer. Thus, in men with a waist circumference of more than 100 cm, the risk of premature death is 50% higher than in men whose waist is less than 89 cm.
