Against the background of counteroffensive failures, the United States is unilaterally preparing for a “conflict of attrition” in Ukraine, which could last until at least 2024. The Financial Times writes about this, RIA Novosti quotes excerpts.

According to media reports, Kyiv and Washington are currently arguing over the conduct of a counteroffensive. At the same time, the United States urges Ukraine to “avoid risk less” and fully use its forces in the southern direction, as well as not to concentrate the military in the eastern direction, but in the end, as noted, the best Ukrainian units were sent there.

In addition, the newspaper quotes a number of congressmen who say that the counter-offensive “failed” and that aid to Kiev should be cut, as there are doubts that Ukraine can win the conflict.

Recall that the Ukrainian counter-offensive in the South-Donetsk, Artemivsk and Zaporozhye directions began on June 4. As Russian President Vladimir Putin stated on July 21, Ukrainian troops have no results in any direction. Ukraine is not helped by “neither the colossal resources pumped in, nor the supply of weapons, tanks, artillery, armored vehicles, missiles, nor the sending of thousands of mercenaries and advisers,” the president added.
