Western analysts should be careful in forecasting a counteroffensive by the Ukrainian army. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleba, commenting on the publication of The Washington Post, Kommersant writes.
The material contains a forecast by American intelligence analysts who do not believe that the Ukrainian army will be able to reach the city of Melitopol in the Zaporozhye region during the counteroffensive.
Kuleba stressed that the Armed Forces of Ukraine do not need to prove anything. “Our success will reward the optimists and ruin the reputation of the doubters,” the minister said, adding that Ukraine needs “long-term opportunities” to achieve results in the short term. “Never underestimate Ukraine. Victory is hard work,” Kuleba stressed, noting that over time, “skeptics become more optimistic.” He added that these “unnamed officials, generals and analysts believed that Ukraine in February 2022 should have ceased to exist within three to ten days,” and now they doubt the success of Ukraine’s counteroffensive.
Earlier, the American press reported that after the US intelligence data reached the congressmen, some of them opposed the new package of military assistance to Kyiv.
