Near Tula, a six-year-old boy was beaten to death by his stepfather. The child asked the mother for help, but she did not call an ambulance, according to the investigating authorities of the Russian Investigative Committee for the region.
According to investigators, the tragedy broke out in Tula Varvarovka. The woman at the time of the tragedy was drunk and did not protect her son from a roommate who severely beat the baby. The mother did not even call an ambulance, the man himself did it the next morning. By that time, the body of little Artyom had already covered with cadaveric spots. Doctors only recorded the death of the child.
On the boy’s body, forensic experts found blow marks, abrasions, strangulation marks on the neck – a total of 136 injuries, in addition, his internal organs were torn, writes Tula Press.
At the same time, the victim’s mother told a friend that after the beating, her son asked for help and cried when she put him to bed. To the question “Does it hurt a lot?” he said before his death, “Mommy, help.” But the woman did not call the doctors, as she was afraid that her roommate would be held accountable.
The court found the man guilty and sentenced him to 23 years in a penal colony. The mother of the child, who did not stand up for her own son, was charged with leaving in danger. She was limited in parental rights: in addition to the deceased, she has four more children.
