The Control and Disciplinary Committee of the Russian Football Union (FCC RFU) has conditionally suspended Lokomotiv striker Artem Dzyuba for two matches for threatening a journalist, Match TV reports.
In addition, the player was fined 50 thousand rubles.
“The correspondent Borodin took part in the meeting. Dzyuba also took part. In the evening, we received a request from Loko with a request to take part in the football player via video link due to his state of health. The FTC allowed Artem to take part via video link,” said Artur Grigoryants, head of the RFU FTC.
The incident with Dzyuba and the journalist occurred after the match Lokomotiv – Krylya Sovetov (1: 1) on August 13. Dzyuba was present at the game, but did not take part in it due to injury. After the match, one of the journalists approached the football player with a request to comment on the critical statements addressed to him by the Russian specialist Igor Shalimov. Grigoryants explained that, despite the absence of Dzyuba in the application for the game, “according to the regulations, he is a” subject of football “”.
