The Investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal case in connection with the provision of unsafe passenger transportation services by the Red Wings airline. This was reported in the Telegram channel of the department.

It is noted that the head of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin instructed to start the case. As the Western Interregional Investigation Department for Transport of the RF IC clarifies, on August 13, the employees of the mentioned airline, responsible for the maintenance of aircraft, decided to operate the flight on the Antalya-Moscow route “to transport 406 passengers in the event of a malfunction of the installation”, which is responsible for the air conditioning system of the aircraft and providing engine start. As a result, “there was a real threat to the safety of life and health of passengers due to their long stay inside the aircraft cabin, where high air temperature was recorded.”

As part of the filed case, other possible cases of the provision of unsafe services by the airline will also be checked.

It should be noted that in recent days, two aircraft of the Red Wings airline have failed at once and there have been several flight delays, including on the route between Yekaterinburg and Antalya.
