The US Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has expanded the list of anti-Russian sanctions. It included one more legal entity and four individuals.
According to a document published on the website of the Ministry of Finance, the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP) and the founders of Alfa Group: Mikhail Fridman, Petr Aven, Alexei Kuzmichev and German Khan fell under the sanctions. They are included in the SDN list, which provides the most severe restrictions.
Now all the assets of individuals and legal entities under the sanctions that are under the jurisdiction of the United States will be frozen, US citizens will be prohibited from entering into any transactions with them, OFAC explained. The department warned that those involved in activities with these individuals and with the RSPP may be included in the US sanctions lists.
Businessmen Fridman and Aven came under EU and UK blocking sanctions at the end of February 2022.
Recall that the last time the United States expanded sanctions on July 20, including 95 legal entities and 14 ships on the list.
