Most people who lose weight are familiar with such a problem as rapid weight gain after losing weight. Endocrinologist Evgenia Skrynnik told how to avoid such undesirable consequences, writes Lenta.ru.
She noted that often after a quick weight loss, the lost kilograms quickly return. Strict restrictive diets are especially dangerous: if the daily caloric content of the diet during weight loss is less than 1200 kilocalories, the weight will quickly return after the end of the “hunger strike”, since the energy needs of the cell are restored slowly, and the excess calories will immediately be deposited in adipose tissue. The optimal rate of weight loss without disruption and re-gaining weight, the doctor called two kilograms per month with a competent correction of the diet.
According to the doctor, quality sleep and adherence to diet will help maintain weight after losing weight. So, it is necessary to adhere to a clear diet with early breakfasts and early dinners: late breakfasts, according to her, can lead to overeating during the day, and late dinners disrupt the quality of sleep, provoke an increase in sugar levels during the night and the next morning. Even after returning to a normal diet, you need to increase the amount of vegetables consumed – this will reduce the portion of high-calorie foods, lower blood glucose levels and maintain a healthy intestinal microflora. In addition, regular physical activity is important, the doctor added.
