US President Joe Biden commented on information about business ties with his son Hunter.
According to him, he “never spoke to anyone about business.” Biden was outraged by a similar question from Fox News journalist Peter Dusi, RBC reports citing The Hill.
“There is evidence in which one of your son’s former business associates claims that you talked to them a lot about business,” the journalist told Biden at an event in New Mexico. The American leader responded by calling the question “lousy,” adding, “Because it’s not true.”
Biden, who served as vice president in 2014, dined with Yelena Baturina, ex-owner of Inteko and widow of former Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov, according to the US House of Representatives Oversight Committee. The meeting at the Milano restaurant in Washington was also attended by the son-in-law of the former mayor of Astana Kenes Rakishev, the former prime minister of Kazakhstan Karim Massimov, Biden’s son Hunter and his business partner Devon Archero.
According to Republicans, in 2014 Baturina transferred $3.5 million to Rosemont Seneca Thornton LLC, co-founded by Biden’s son.
