Poland has become the main instrument of US anti-Russian policy. This opinion was expressed by Minister of Defense Sergei Shoigu during a speech at the collegium of the department.

He noted that Warsaw began large-scale purchases of weapons, including tanks, artillery systems, air defense / missile defense systems and combat aircraft, from the United States, Britain and South Korea. And all this, according to the minister, carries risks for Russia.

“Warsaw has announced its intention to build, according to the Poles, the most powerful army on the continent,” Shoigu said. The quote is given by Kommersant. He also added that Poland has plans to create a Polish-Ukrainian connection. In his opinion, this is being done “for the occupation of Western Ukraine.”

The Minister also noted the growing NATO grouping near the borders of Russia and Belarus, calling the entry of Finland into NATO, and in the future Sweden, a destabilizing factor. Shoigu said that about 360,000 servicemen, 8,000 armored vehicles, 6,000 artillery systems and mortars, 650 planes and helicopters were stationed in the immediate vicinity of the borders of the Union State. According to him, the number of formations of non-regional states of the North Atlantic bloc has increased by 2.5 times since February last year and exceeded 30 thousand people.
