Who receives the Human Development Bonus?

The Human Development Bond (BDH) consists of a monthly conditional cash transfer of $50,00 conceptualized to cover vulnerabilities related to the economic situation of the family nucleus.

This voucher is addressed to the representative of the families living in conditions of greater vulnerability, according to the socioeconomic classification index of the Social Registry 2013 _extreme poverty and in the poverty band determined for protection_, preferably to the female head of household or spouse, or to the person who is responsible for purchasing decisions.

The Ministry of Economic and Social Inclusion (MIES) details that this transfer is conditioned to the fulfillment of co-responsibilities by the families in: health, education, housing, eradication of child labor and family support.

So too, there is the BDH con componente variable. This component was established based on the number of minor children, of those households that receive the BDH that are in conditions of extreme poverty according to the 2013 Social Registry index.

In this way, the BDH _ by effect of the variable component and depending on the conformation of the family nucleus_, will be up to a maximum amount of $ 150 per month.

On the other hand, the Government also delivers a pension for the elderly, which consists of a monthly monetary transfer of $ 50.00 directed to people aged 65 and over, who do not have access to contributory social security coverage, in order to cover economic deficiencies and expenses demanded by the vulnerabilities that are accentuated by age.

In total the Government maintains nine bonds, including two for people with disabilities, three for the elderly, and one for victims of femicide, which are delivered to a total of 1′463.646 Ecuadorians in conditions of poverty and extreme poverty.
