Delayed almost two years by the pandemic, this Friday a new Ecuadorian film will be released, based on a real-life case: Algoritmo. In this production the first and last cinematographic work in which Efraín Ruales participated will be visible.

The film will tell an experience of the same director, Rogerio Moncayo, who hopes that through humor, he will be able to reflect on technology, the release of data and corruption. The film will touch on family themes, such as a divorce, lack of contact with children, demands and love. The actors who were in charge of reliving the situation are Monserrath Astudillo (Úrsula), Jael Alulema (Valeria), Erika Russo, Efraín Ruales (Martín Roldán) Gisella Bayona, Darío León. Alfredo Espinoza Cordero (Trajano Benavides) and Carlos Piñeiros.

The feature film will tell the story of Trajano Benavides, an architect who, after Úrsula’s divorce, will tirelessly search for a way to meet his daughter Valeria. Within that sentimental roll, he will be immersed in a technological fight with a transnational ‘Easycorp’, which intends to introduce a subcutaneous chip to the market; and for this the businessman Martín Roldán will persecute them and try to take away everything they have.

The television presenter Efraín Ruales was assassinated in the north of Guayaquil

Although the 140-minute film, written by Rogerio Moncayo with Gonzalo Estupiñan, was completed in 2019, due to the health crisis caused by the pandemic and the unfortunate murder of Efraín Ruales, its national premiere was postponed until last month of 2021. So, this Friday, December 3, the cinemas of Ecuador will expose the production for moviegoers.

Regarding the characters and the premiere of the film, the actors of the cast have shared information with their followers through social networks. For example, actor Alfredo Espinoza assures that this film will manage to awaken various emotions in viewers: tears, pride, shock, laughter, surprise and even indignation, as he wrote on his personal Instagram account.

Another important role in this story is that of Úrsula and the actress Monserrath Astudillo will wear her heels.

The late Efraín Ruales, on the other hand, played the villain of the story.

The premiere of the film, which is suitable for all audiences, will be with limited capacity. Tickets can be purchased in movie theaters nationwide or through the Internet. (E)
