It was reported that the new administrator of the sanatorium is negotiating with the Ministry of Finance to transfer the corresponding assignments.
Esmeraldas
More than one hundred people, including collaborators from cleaning areas and security guards, complained at the Sur Delfina Torres de Esmeraldas hospital for the payment of pending salaries, this Thursday 2.
They requested the cancellation of the values corresponding to the service provider companies by the public hospital.
Heidy Cadena, supervisor of the Clean company, explained that seven months ago they were hired for cleaning services in said sanatorium, to carry out tasks of up to twelve hours. Even in the midst of the health crisis, they work in sensitive areas, such as caring for patients with COVID-19, said Mayra Santos, representative of Mega Brillo.
Given the lack of money due to arrears in their salaries, several of them said that they had closed loans in warehouses and pantries, according to Xavier Ledesma, an employee. That data was corroborated by representatives of one of the stores, where the debt is about $ 60,000.
“We have families to support and we ask for our payments, which also include Social Security contributions,” said one of the security guards, who reserved his name.
These labor claims have also been presented to the Ministry of Labor and Governor Tania Obando.
It was reported that the new administrator of the sanatorium, Andrea Lastra, is negotiating with the Ministry of Finance so that the assignments are transferred in order to comply with the pending commitments with the service providers. (I)
