At night, the Russian army struck with long-range weapons at facilities where terrorist attacks were being prepared against Russia using unmanned boats, as well as at the places where they were manufactured in the Odessa region. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense in the Telegram channel.
“Tonight, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation launched a group strike with sea and air-based long-range precision weapons at facilities where terrorist acts were being prepared against the Russian Federation using unmanned boats, as well as at places where they were manufactured near the city of Odessa,” the report says.
It is emphasized that all targets were destroyed.
The report also noted that there were foreign mercenaries at the targets that were hit.
The department added that the information disseminated by Kiev about the defeat as a result of the shelling of the Transfiguration Cathedral in Odessa is not true.
Earlier, the TASS agency reported that on the night of July 23, a series of powerful explosions occurred in Odessa. It was clarified that explosions began to be heard in the city closer to 1:00. At 23:31–23:42 and 00:38–01:28 an air raid alert was active in the Odessa region. According to the chairman of the Odessa regional state administration Oleg Kiper, air defense facilities were working on the city. A little later, videos began to circulate on Telegram channels, which allegedly showed destruction in the Transfiguration Cathedral of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate.
Recall that in recent days the Russian army has inflicted “retaliatory strikes” on Ukraine, in particular on Odessa. The targets were objects of the military industry, fuel infrastructure, ammunition depots.
Earlier, on July 17, one car span on the Crimean bridge was damaged, two people were killed – a married couple from the Belgorod region, their daughter survived. According to the National Anti-Terrorism Committee, two drone boats exploded under the bridge.
