The UK has lifted sanctions against the Russian businessman, founder of Tinkoff Bank, Oleg Tinkov. This is stated in a document published by the UK Treasury.
According to him, since July 20, the freezing of assets and the ban on the provision of trust services have been lifted from Tinkov.
Let’s add that this is the second case of withdrawal from the Russian segment of the British sanctions list in July. Since July 6, restrictive measures have been lifted from Lev Khasis. Until February 2022, he was the first deputy chairman of Sberbank, and then, like Tinkov, left the Russian Federation.
Earlier, we recall, Bloomberg wrote that Oleg Tinkov, who announced his renunciation of Russian citizenship in October 2022, applied to the British Foreign Office with a request to remove him from the sanctions list. In a statement, the entrepreneur said that he supports sanctions against the Russian Federation.
In recent years, Tinkov lived in the UK. In this country, he was part of a course of treatment for leukemia. At the end of March, London imposed personal sanctions against the businessman, which included freezing accounts, a ban on the entry of his ships (including leased ones) into British ports, and the acceptance of his aircraft at British airports. Entry into the country for Tinkov, however, London did not prohibit.
On March 26, the British authorities lifted restrictions against Tinkov’s planes and yachts, but four days later they were restored again.
