Crimea was massively attacked by drones. At night, in the east of the peninsula, air defense forces shot down 9 UAVs, another 19 were suppressed by electronic warfare, the head of the republic, Sergei Aksyonov, said on his Telegram channel.
According to him, there were no casualties.
Aksyonov urged everyone to remain calm and trust only trusted sources of information. He also thanked the military service. “They worked clearly and smoothly,” wrote the head of the Crimea.
Earlier, on July 17, the head of Crimea announced an “emergency in the area of the 145th pillar of the Crimean bridge” and the suspension of traffic on it. Later, the National Anti-Terrorism Committee announced a terrorist attack on the bridge around 3:00. According to the committee, the attack was carried out by two Ukrainian surface drones. As a result, two people died, one child was injured.
The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation opened a criminal case under the article about the terrorist act. The Russian authorities accused the Ukrainian special services of preparing the attack. President Vladimir Putin said that the Defense Ministry is preparing proposals to respond to Ukraine’s actions.
