People’s militia will appear in Belarus. The corresponding law was signed by the President of the country Alexander Lukashenko.
The message on the website of the Belarusian leader says that the document creates the legal basis for the voluntary participation of citizens in ensuring martial law “introduced in the administrative-territorial (territorial) units of the republic, as well as additional conditions for assisting the territorial internal affairs bodies in the exercise of their powers and protection of property of all forms of ownership from criminal and other encroachments”.
Earlier, the country’s Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin said that the country’s authorities intend to create a militia. According to him, for this the republic has “both people and weapons”, it remains to resolve the issue legislatively.
We also add that Lukashenka signed a law on the ratification of an agreement with Russia on the establishment of combat training centers for joint training of military personnel. The document regulates the creation and operation of combat training centers based on military units in Belarus and Russia.
