Psychologist Michael Breus, known on social networks as Doctor Sleep, told subscribers on his social networks how to fall asleep quickly. He shared a powerful and simple “4-7-8” method.
According to him, if you woke up in the middle of the night, do not look at the clock, but rather do one exercise. The main task is to lower the heart rate with a simple breathing practice. It is important to gain control over breathing and, ultimately, fall asleep quickly. You can use this method both before going to bed and when you suddenly wake up in the middle of the night.
What is the 4-7-8 Method: Exhale deeply through your mouth. Inhale through your nose for 4 seconds (counting to yourself) while keeping your mouth closed. Hold your breath for seven seconds. This is the most important part of the technique. Exhale through your mouth for 8 seconds.
Repeat this whole pattern at least four times or more until you feel like falling asleep. Most likely, while you are breathing according to the “4-7-8” method, you will not even notice how you fall asleep.
According to the expert, if you regularly practice this method, then there will be no more problems with falling asleep.
