Violation of the ceasefire regime was recorded in the zone of responsibility of Russian peacekeepers in the Askeran region in Nagorno-Karabakh. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. According to the department, there were no casualties.
The command of the Russian peacekeeping contingent, together with the Azerbaijani and Armenian sides, is conducting an investigation into this fact, the Ministry of Defense indicated.
Recall that at the end of September 2020, hostilities resumed in Nagorno-Karabakh, which became a continuation of a long-term conflict and led to civilian casualties. The parties repeatedly tried to conclude a truce, but the tripartite agreement reached on the night of November 10 was successful. With the mediation of Moscow, Azerbaijan and Armenia agreed to completely cease fire, remaining in their positions, and to exchange prisoners and the bodies of the dead.
Thus, the Kelbajar and Lachin regions, as well as part of the Aghdam region, crossed Baku.
Russian peacekeepers have been stationed in the region, including the Lachin corridor.
