British-born French singer and actress Jane Birkin has died at the age of 76. According to BFMTV, the body of a woman was found in a house in Paris.
According to Le Parisien, due to health reasons, Birkin canceled her concerts in the spring. Journalists remind that in the fall of 2021, Birkin suffered a stroke, which also forced her to cancel performances.
Jane Birkin was born December 14, 1946 in London to actress Judy Campbell and Royal Navy officer David Birkin. In the late 1960s, she moved to France. Her first significant film work was the role in the film “Blow Up” by Michelangelo Antonioni. There she played a girl who wanted to become a model.
The actress participated in dozens of films, among the most famous film works – roles in the films “Pool” by Jacques Dere, “Slogan” by Pierre Grimble, “Death on the Nile” by John Guillermin, “Charming naughty” by Jacques Rivette.
She was awarded the French National Order of Merit and the Order of the British Empire.
