In Orsk, Orenburg region, a criminal case was initiated after food poisoning of 36 preschoolers, the press service of the regional Investigative Committee of the RF IC reports.
According to the department, the case was initiated under the article on the performance of work or the provision of services that do not meet the requirements for the safety of life or health of consumers and committed in relation to goods, work or services intended for children under the age of six.
The press service of the city administration, in turn, reports that the source of infection could be the yogurt of the Novotroitsk dairy plant. According to the mayor’s office, eight patients were hospitalized in a state of moderate severity. Previously, they were diagnosed with food poisoning.
The administration said that educational organizations should temporarily change suppliers. The use of dairy products without heat treatment in budgetary institutions of the region during the period of abnormal heat is prohibited. Residents of the region were also advised not to consume dairy products from the Novotroitsk Dairy Plant with a production date of July 11.
The Department of Rospotrebnadzor for the Orenburg region is conducting an epidemiological investigation into the fact of poisoning. According to the mayor’s office, at the time of the inspection, it was decided to withdraw from circulation all the dairy products of the enterprise and suspend its activities.
