A schoolgirl from Novosibirsk gave birth to a child at the age of 11. The baby was born healthy, said Tatyana Anokhina, Deputy Minister of Health of the Novosibirsk Region, writes MK-Novosibirsk.
Now the fourth-grader is considered the youngest mother in the region in the last ten years. There is no mention of the child’s father. There is also no information about the condition of the girl herself, who became a mother.
Anokhina only noted that usually about ten girls aged 15 to 17 become mothers.
Earlier, a 13-year-old girl from the Moscow region became pregnant from a 14-year-old cousin. The fact that she was in position became known when the parents brought the girl to the antenatal clinic.
According to the World Health Organization, girls between the ages of 10 and 19 are at greater risk of developing eclampsia, subsequent endometritis, and systemic infections if they become pregnant. Their children are more likely to have low birth weight, be born prematurely and suffer from serious neonatal diseases, doctors say.
