The Ukrainian military tried to launch a missile attack on targets in the Crimea, Kaluga and Rostov regions. This was reported in the Russian Defense Ministry.
According to the department, the targets of the missiles were the Crimean bridge and a military airfield in the Rostov region. Two missiles were shot down, two more were rejected by electronic warfare (EW), the Defense Ministry said. It is specified that S-200 anti-aircraft missiles converted into a strike version were used.
There are no casualties or destruction.
The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate and the command post of the joint group were ordered to detect and destroy the launch positions of Ukrainian missiles, as well as take additional measures to protect objects from attacks, the report says.
Earlier, the head of the Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, said that a cruise missile near Kerch was shot down by air defense systems. At the same time, the governor of the Rostov region, Vasily Golubev, noted that air defense shot down a Ukrainian missile between Kamensk and Donetsk. Also, the governor of the Bryansk region Alexander Bogomaz reported about two Ukrainian missiles shot down by air defense forces.
