Two people affected after a fire started on a boat anchored in the harbor of the port of Manta

Those affected were transferred to health homes.

Two people were affected by the inhalation of the smoke that arose inside a tuna boat anchored in the Manta bay, which suffered a fire inside, as reported by the captaincy of this Manabi port.

The fire on the Txopituna ship, 70 meters long and 15 meters wide, started around noon this Tuesday in the Manta harbor, and the control entities used a little more than an hour to control the incident.

The event also caused material losses in part of the ship.

Those affected were transferred to health homes, while the firefighters complied with putting an end to the fire of a fire whose causes are being investigated, according to a statement from the Manta Port Authority.

The Manta Port Authority Security and Operations directors described as positive the actions of the Fire Department personnel, who worked jointly with personnel from the Manta Port Terminal and the Ministry of Health, providing timely attention in emergencies.

The Txopituna vessel, of the Panamanian flag, was towed to international pier number 1, berth 4 of the port of Manta, for the fulfillment of emergency tasks and subsequent inspection to determine the causes of the incident. (I)
