Representatives of PMC “Wagner” did not arrive to inspect a possible location in the Osipovichi region in Belarus. This was reported to the agency “Belta” in the press service of the Ministry of Defense.
Assistant to the head of the department, Leonid Kasinsky, said that the camp near Osipovichi was deployed to train military personnel, as well as representatives of the administration, when deploying a territorial defense system. According to him, this is a former military town, the infrastructure of which is preserved to this day.
The camp can accommodate about 5 thousand people.
Recall that on June 23, the founder of the Wagner PMC, Yevgeny Prigozhin, announced a “march of justice” against Moscow. PMC fighters crossed the border, established control over military facilities in Rostov-on-Don and entered several Russian regions with military equipment and weapons. The authorities of the Russian Federation called Prigozhin’s actions an armed rebellion.
The situation was resolved on June 24 through the mediation of Alexander Lukashenko. Under the terms of the agreement, Yevgeny Prigozhin must leave for Belarus. After that, the Russian authorities dropped the criminal case on the rebellion and promised not to prosecute the PMC fighters.
