Subjects steal $ 70,000 from the foundation’s headquarters, in the northwest of Guayaquil

The criminals got into a taxi while the driver of the vehicle was tied up in the trunk.

A theft of $ 70,000 was registered this Monday, November 29, at the facilities of the Hogar de Cristo foundation, located in the coop. Sergio Toral, in the northwest of Guayaquil.

According to the first reports, several armed men entered the place in a taxi and threatened the officials to obtain the money.

This, while the taxi driver was tied up in the trunk of the vehicle, as he had been threatened by the men who a minute before had asked him for a ride.

For now, the Police have not given further details of how the robbery was carried out, only reported that they have already identified the suspects and that operations are being carried out to locate and capture them.

Meanwhile, the directors of the foundation have not commented on the robbery, nor did they want to confirm the amount of the robbery revealed by a police source.

So far in 2021 there have been 200 robberies from commercial entities in zone 8, made up of Guayaquil, Durán and Samborondón. (I)
