Four residents of the Republic of Tuva were diagnosed with anthrax. This was reported by the press service of the regional Rosselkhoznadzor, TASS reports.
All patients are residents of the Barun-Khemchik region of the republic.
Rospotrebnadzor added that the threat of the spread of anthrax is excluded.
Earlier, only one infected person was reported in Tuva. He was hospitalized at the end of June. It was reported that a resident of the city of Ak-Dovurak had contracted the infection. The infected person was hospitalized in the Kyzyl Infectious Diseases Hospital. A state of emergency has been introduced in the region. Persons who had contact with the sick person have been identified, disinfection was carried out at the place of residence of the infected person.
According to the Telegram channel Mash, a resident of Tuva who contracted anthrax cooked and ate the insides of a horse after slaughter. It is noted that the horse was killed, as she began to have convulsions. The Russian decided to eat the insides of the animal according to local tradition. According to the regional prosecutor’s office, the fact of purchasing horsemeat without a certificate was established.
