The Ministry of Health of Ukraine, after the statement of the adviser to the general director of the Rosenergoatom concern Renat Karchaa about the planned attack on the Zaporizhzhya NPP by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, issued recommendations for the population in case of an explosion at the station.
According to the memo posted on the agency’s official Telegram channel, “in the event of an explosion at the ZNPP, residents of the potential zone of a radiation accident must be prepared for possible evacuation.”
If the authorities have officially reported a radiation accident, it is best to stay indoors or try to get to the premises as soon as possible. The Ministry of Health recommended to follow further messages and follow the instructions from the authorities. The department also advised to carry a “alarm suitcase” with you, where there will be personal documents, a mask or respirator, wet wipes, a change of clothes and shoes, the minimum necessary supply of water and food.
Earlier, we recall, Renat Karchaa said that on the night of July 5, the Armed Forces of Ukraine plan to strike the station using long-range precision weapons and drones, and also intend to drop ammunition with radioactive waste removed from the South Ukrainian NPP on July 3.
In turn, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky accused Russia of allegedly preparing a terrorist attack at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. The Kremlin called Zelensky’s statements another lie.
