Two drones were shot down in New Moscow, RIA Novosti and TASS report, citing emergency services. According to TASS, another drone was shot down in the Kaluga region.
All UAVs were of helicopter type and at different times headed for Moscow, but were “suppressed” by means of electronic warfare (EW).
RIA Novosti clarifies that the drones were shot down near the village of Valuevo, there were no casualties or damage.
The Mash Telegram channel publishes eyewitness videos showing a cloud of smoke, and writes that about five minutes passed between two loud sounds, and the air defense could be the cause.
The village of Valuevo is located about five kilometers from Vnukovo Airport. According to the departure board on the airport’s website, flights that were supposed to take off after 5:00 were delayed, RBC notes. Arriving flights were redirected to other Moscow airports. In particular, we are talking about boards from Sharm El Sheikh, Dubai, Makhachkala, Chelyabinsk and Novosibirsk. Another plane, from Ankara, has been circling near Vnukovo for a little over an hour, follows from Flightradar data.
Telegram channel Baza writes that in the Kaluga region, eyewitnesses reported two aircraft-type drones flying at an altitude of 200 m towards Moscow. In addition, according to the 112 and Baza telegram channels, at around 4 a.m., a kamikaze drone struck an administrative building on the territory of one of the military facilities in Kubinka. Initially, there were no casualties or damage.
