The Armed Forces of Ukraine (APU) continue offensive operations. Fighting has intensified in three directions – Donetsk, Krasnoliman and Yuzhno-Donetsk, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.
The department clarified that in the course of active defense in the Donetsk direction, it was possible to repel 11 enemy attacks in the areas of the settlements of Artemovsk, Vodiane, Novobakhmutovka, Severnoye, Pervomayskoye and Maryinka of the Donetsk People’s Republic. Up to 360 Ukrainian military personnel, six tanks, eight infantry fighting vehicles, five vehicles, an American M119 towed gun, a Polish Krab self-propelled artillery mount, and a Gvozdika self-propelled howitzer were destroyed in the same direction, and ammunition depots were destroyed in the area of Seversk and Grigorovka 92nd mechanized and 95th air assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Defense noted.
They also added that three attacks by units of the 95th airborne assault and 66th mechanized brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the areas of the settlements of Torskoye DPR, Chervonaya Dibrova and Nevskoye of the Luhansk People’s Republic were repelled in the Krasnolimansk direction.
At the same time, an attack was repelled in the area of the Donetsk settlement of Nikolskoye in the Yuzhno-Donetsk direction, and a Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group was knocked out on the Vremevsky ledge, the Russian defense ministry said.
The Ministry of Defense added that the Russian military destroyed units of the Ukrainian army, which were located in the area of Antonovsky Island near the bridge of the same name in the Kherson region, connecting the right-bank Kherson with the left-bank part of the Kherson region, which is under Russian control.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in an interview with Spanish media in Kyiv, said that Kyiv would like to “show results on the battlefield” by the NATO summit, which will be held in Vilnius on July 11-12. “Before the summit, we must show results, but every kilometer costs a life,” Zelensky said, quoted by RTVE. The leader of Ukraine acknowledged that the plans of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the counteroffensive had slowed down in recent months, explaining that the rains were interfering. He also asked the West to continue to support Ukraine with weapons, stressing that “without Ukraine, NATO will not be complete.”
