Protesters attacked the home of the mayor of the French city of L’Ail-le-Rose. As a result of the attack, his wife and child were injured, the official Vincent Jeanbrune himself said on social networks.
According to him, while he himself was in the mayor’s office, unknown people tried to ram his house in a car at night and then set it on fire. His wife and child were injured.
BFMTV reports that prosecutors have launched an investigation into the attempted murder.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, 45 policemen and gendarmes were injured during the night riots in France. A total of 719 demonstrators were detained overnight.
Recall that the riots have been going on in France for several days. Young people set fire to cars, buildings of the police and local authorities, rob banks and shops. In total, about 2.4 thousand people were detained, a third of them are minors. The reason for the protests was the murder of a 17-year-old teenager by police while checking on a road in the Parisian suburb of Nanterre.
