Turkey proposed to create a “ticket card” for Russian tourists to replace the “Mir” system.

According to Sabah, this payment method will not violate Western sanctions imposed on Russia.

“Tourists from Russia, when buying tour packages, will pay for the “ticket” as for a card. This card can be used in restaurants, shopping and entertainment establishments,” the newspaper writes.

In addition, an alternative to the Mir payment system could be the creation of a separate bank, Izvestia reports with reference to Alexei Egarmin, director of the Russian-Turkish Business Council.

According to him, it can be a special bank, a system based on blockchain settlements or closed clearing, as well as a separate center for settlements.

Meanwhile, the media reported that all Turkish banks withdrew from the Mir system. In particular, the state-owned Ziraat Bank stopped serving it today, Reuters reports.

Earlier, on September 19, large Turkish banks Is Bankasi and DenizBank stopped accepting Russian Mir cards. They made this decision after the US threatened to impose sanctions for helping Russia bypass the restrictions.
