There is an opinion that due to the large number of sexual partners, the female genital organ is stretched. To find out whether this is true or a myth, a team of British scientists from the University College London Hospital tried, the material was published on the Obgyn portal.
Scientists conducted a study in which 50 premenopausal women took part. All of them were subjected to gynecological procedures and interviews. The study illustrated a wide range of genital sizes in healthy women. At the same time, the data of both nulliparous and women who gave birth to children in a natural way were studied.
As a result, experts could not confirm that sex with a large number of partners leads to changes in the shape and size of the vagina. Studies have not revealed a significant difference between the size of the vagina of women who have given birth and those who have not given birth.
At the same time, experts recognized that physical trauma, such as childbirth, can temporarily affect the genitals. At the same time, the vagina is so elastic that over time it returns to the prenatal state, the experts concluded.
Earlier, sexologist Artur Salakhov called the data that sex changes the size of the vagina a myth. He explained that when sexually aroused, the pelvic floor muscles surrounding the vagina slowly relax. During and immediately after sex, the vagina temporarily becomes wider. However, when sexual intercourse is completed, the elastic muscles around the vagina return to their original position and shape, and the size of the vagina does not change.
