They block the Mascarilla-Mira-El Ángel road, in the province of Carchi

The inhabitants of Mask placed a tree that does not allow mobility on that road.

Look, Carchi

On the morning of this Monday, November 29, the Mascarilla – Mira – El Ángel road section, alternate route of the Panamericana Norte (E35), which connects Imbabura with Carchi, is closed.

This corridor receives more than four thousand vehicles daily, which travel between the two provinces or between the Carche cantons of Mira, Espejo and Bolívar.

The inhabitants of Mask placed a tree on the road that does not allow mobility. It was known that the community made the decision to obstruct the road demanding works offered by the Municipal Government of Mira.

The municipal authorities have not ruled on the matter.

For now, the Northern Mobility Company recommends that frequent users of this artery traveling to Ibarra, Pimampiro or El Juncal not use this road and travel along the E-35 (Panamericana Norte).

Luis Onofre, a resident of Mira, who was heading from Ibarra to that city of Carche, commented that he had to advance to Bolívar on the Panamericana Norte and then take the Bolívar – García Moreno – San Isidro-Mira section. That caused his route to be extended and the time he normally uses to move between both towns in the north of the country.

Drivers traveling to Ibarra or vice versa can take the Bolívar-Valle del Chota road. (I)
