Former Royal Navy submarine captain Ryan Ramsey told Sky News about the possible causes of the explosion that sank the Titan submersible. So, according to him, there are two versions.
According to the first, a bolted hatch used to seal the ship broke, causing the ship’s hull to collapse, he said.
The second version: the body of the bathyscaphe itself was designed with errors, and as a result, could not withstand the water pressure.
As Ramsey noted, ignoring the conventional methods of creating submersibles in the case of “Titan” is fraught with huge risks, and the result was the death of five people.
Recall that communication with the deep-sea vehicle of the OceanGate Expeditions company, designed to deliver tourists to the site of the sinking of the Titanic, disappeared on June 18, about an hour and 45 minutes after the dive. According to the US Coast Guard, the wreckage of the bathyscaphe was found more than 200 meters from the sunken Titanic. They testify to a “catastrophic inward-directed explosion.”
